Dermody Properties Presents a $5,000 Thanksgiving Capstone Award to Feeding America of Riverside and San Bernardino

We have announced the recipients of our Annual Dermody Properties Thanksgiving Capstone Award. Feeding America of Riverside and San Bernardino (FARSB) has received $5,000 to assist in its mission of alleviating hunger in the Inland Empire.

FARSB is a nonprofit organization based in Riverside, Calif. and an active member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. FARSB partners with more than 250 area nonprofits and distributes over 2.5 million pounds of food a month.

According to Feeding America, more than 3.5 million Californians are food insecure and one in eight children face hunger. In both Riverside and San Bernardino counties, over half a million people are dealing with food insecurity.

FARSB has dedicated itself to aiding residents of the Inland Empire community for more than 40 years. Last year, the nonprofit distributed over 30 million pounds of food and made over 7,000 home deliveries.

Every year, senior management at Dermody Properties selects the recipients for the Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award with the overall goal of helping nonprofit organizations address the increased need experienced during the holidays. Kathleen Briscoe, Partner and Chief Capital Officer for Dermody Properties, specifically designated FARSB as one of this year’s recipients.

“The Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award allows our company to contribute to organizations that are vital to the communities we’re a part of,” said Briscoe. “Dermody Properties is honored to provide this gift to Feeding America of Riverside and San Bernardino. We donated to this nonprofit last year, and it continues to impress us. This food bank betters the lives of thousands of Inland Empire residents while actively working towards expanding its positive impact year after year.”

The Dermody Properties Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award is uniquely directed each year by the executive management committee of Dermody Properties, which includes Chairman and CEO Michael Dermody; President Douglas A. Kiersey, Jr.; Partner and Chief Capital Officer Kathleen Briscoe; Partner and Chief Strategy Officer Amy Curry; Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Kauchak; Chief Financial Officer Douglas Lanning; and Partner and Chief Investment Officer Timothy Walsh.

Dermody Properties has selected seven additional recipient organizations and will award $25,000 to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, $10,000 each to Colliers Cares: Hurricane Ian Relief in Tampa, Florida and the Northfield Township Food Pantry in Glenview, Illinois; and $5,000 each to North Texas Food Bank in Plano, Texas; The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix, Arizona; Food Bank of South Jersey in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey; and St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, Arizona.
