Dermody Properties Grants a $5,000 Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award to Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada
We have announced the recipients of the annual Dermody Properties Thanksgiving Capstone Award. Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada (CCNN), dedicated to providing support to those in need in the Reno/Sparks community as well as in rural Nevada, has received $5,000 to assist in its mission of helping people rise up out of poverty and overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency.
CCNN has been serving individuals and families for more than 77 years. With food, clothing, shelter, and a helping hand, CCNN brings hope to people in order to build spirit and self-reliance within them and within the greater community. The organization addresses the root causes of poverty by encountering and accompanying those living in poverty on a journey to economic equality and the realization of a meaningful and purposeful life.
Every year, senior management at Dermody Properties selects the recipients for the annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award with the overall goal of helping nonprofit organizations address the increased need experienced during the holidays. This year, Chief Financial Officer Doug Lanning specifically designated CCNN as a recipient.
“Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is a long-standing and trusted organization that makes a difference in the lives of thousands of men, women and children in our community,” said Lanning. “We feel incredibly fortunate to be able to support extraordinary organizations such as this one so that it can provide assistance to even more people and families experiencing hardship.”
The Dermody Properties Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award is uniquely directed each year by the executive management committee of Dermody Properties, which includes Chairman and CEO Michael Dermody; President Douglas A. Kiersey, Jr.; Partner and Chief Capital Officer Kathleen Briscoe; Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Kauchak; Chief Financial Officer Douglas Lanning; and Partner and Chief Investment Officer Timothy Walsh.
“Every year, the Thanksgiving Capstone Award allows our company to help organizations who are truly making a difference in the lives of people in need,” said Dermody. “We are pleased to support Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and recognize their efforts to ensure basic human needs are met and that individuals are empowered with the tools and resources they need to live better lives.”
