We are pleased to announce the promotion of Robert Borny, CCIM to Partner. Borny has been with the company since October 2017 and previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Capital Deployment in the East Region. This new role took effect on July 1.
“In the three and a half years he’s been with Dermody Properties, Rob has sourced more than one million square feet of new developments and acquisitions between three projects, quickly demonstrating his ability to source and execute transactions consistent with our strategy,” said Gene Preston, East Region Partner at Dermody Properties. “His experience, execution and relationships will continue to benefit our customers, investors and the company.”
In 2020, Borny was named a GlobeSt. Fifty Under 40 award recipient – the award recognizes the achievements of young professionals in the commercial real estate industry. Before joining Dermody Properties, Borny was a Director at HFF in New Jersey, where he was responsible for sourcing and marketing industrial investment property sales. He became a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in October 2011 and has more than a decade of experience in the industrial real estate development and investment industries.
“I am thrilled to take this next step in my career with Dermody Properties,” said Borny. “The company provides a collaborative and supportive environment that promotes a culture of best-in-class, customer-focused service, and it’s been a pleasure to work alongside some of the smartest in logistics real estate over the past three and a half years. I look forward to stepping into this role and to what’s next to come for Dermody Properties, our investors and our customers.”
Borny will manage land and building acquisitions, build-to-suit projects, development activities and asset management in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, New York, Maryland and Virginia.
“Rob has made exemplary contributions to our company-wide strategy, and he has played a key role in growing our portfolio in the East Region,” said Douglas A. Kiersey, Jr., President at Dermody Properties. “We look forward to his continued success and are pleased to support his career growth with this much-deserved promotion.”
