Locally, AFP – Sierra Chapter has more than 90 active members from Reno, Sparks, Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Truckee Meadows.  The chapter offers educational luncheons, a yearly training conference and Cornerstone Awards Luncheon as well as many other unique opportunities for members such as a mentor program.

First held in 1986, National Philanthropy Day (NPD) provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and celebrates the endless daily contributions individuals and organizations across the world make to countless causes and missions. Last year, more than 100 AFP chapters held NPD events and activities across North America, an opportunity to shine a spotlight briefly on those who give and remind our communities, our society and the world that the spirit of giving is alive and well.
