Dermody Properties/DP Partners Foundation Donates Check to the Old Savannah City Mission.
HARRISBURG, Pa. – In November, Reno, NV-based Dermody Properties Foundation donated a $5,000 check to the Old Savannah City Mission to support their good works and help allay the cost of hosting the 12th Annual Day of Great Thanksgiving, an event in which 7,000 smoked turkey dinners were served to the hungry and homeless by 800 volunteers at Forsyth Park in downtown Savannah.
“We have been an active corporate citizen of Savannah since 2007 when we acquired 72 acres of land for our LogistiPortÒ at Savannah industrial park. We are very pleased to give back to a community that is an important component of our success,” said Stephen G. Bailey, RLA, Partner of the Eastern Region office in Harrisburg, PA, for DP Partners, a member of Dermody Properties.
LogistiPort at Savannah is located on the west side of Dean Forest Road (Georgia Route 307), bordering the historic Savannah & Ogeechee Canal, less than one mile north of I- 16 in Pooler, GA, and four miles west of the Port of Savannah.
“We hope our donation helps our neighbors in the short term; however, we are in the business of attracting jobs, which is an important component to the long-term solution,” he said. Since 2007, DP Partners has developed two new distribution centers, totaling 1,036,680 SF and currently approximately 40 percent leased. According to Bailey, when LogistiPort is fully leased, it could generate up to 300 jobs.
