Dermody Gifts $100,000 to Community Organizations for its Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award
Dermody is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2025 Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award. Seven organizations in communities where Dermody does business will receive a combined $100,000, ranging from $10,000 to $25,000, to further efforts that positively impact individuals and families across the country.
“Each year, the Thanksgiving Capstone Award provides Dermody with the opportunity to share our success with those in need,” said Douglas A. Kiersey, Jr., Chief Executive Officer and President at Dermody. “We appreciate the chance to contribute to organizations that provide crucial services to people who need them most.”
The following organizations were chosen by Dermody’s Executive Leadership Team, to receive the 2025 Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award.
- The Food Bank of Northern Nevada, located in Reno, Nevada, is a nonprofit organization and a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, focused on providing emergency food services to families throughout northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada in California.
- Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, located in Reno, Nevada, has been providing support to those in need in Reno and Sparks communities as well as across rural Nevada for over 80 years. The organization helps people of all cultures and beliefs rise up out of poverty and overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency.
- St. Mary’s Food Bank, located in Phoenix, Arizona, is one of the largest food banks in the United States and has been working to end hunger across Arizona for 55 years through its food distribution and children’s feeding programs.
- The Northfield Township Food Pantry, located in Northfield Township, Illinois, was founded more than 50 years ago to help residents of Northfield Township with food insecurity. The organization serves hundreds of families by connecting them with grocery store cards and non-perishable food items.
- North Texas Food Bank, located in Plano, Texas, is a social benefit organization that features multiple programs to close the hunger gap in North Texas.
- Feeding America of Riverside | San Bernardino, located in Southern California, is the largest hunger-relief organization in the Inland Empire, distributing over 2.7 million pounds of food per month and partnering with more than 250 local nonprofit organizations.
- The Catholic Shrine of Immaculate Conception’s St. Francis Table Soup Kitchen, located in Atlanta, Georgia, feeds 500 to 700 people in Atlanta every Saturday. The only requirement is that people come hungry.
“Our history is rooted in a culture of giving back,” said Michael Dermody, Executive Chairman at Dermody. “These organizations provide relief during some of the hardest times of people’s lives, and we are humbled to support them.”
Each year, the Executive Leadership Team at Dermody selects the recipients for the Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award with the goal of helping address the increased need families experience during the holidays in the regions Dermody serves.
